This Privacy Policy describes how KalaQaar ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and discloses your information when you use our website and mobile application (the "Service").
1. Information We Collect
We collect several types of information to provide and improve our Service.
- Personal Data: Information you provide to us directly, such as your name, phone number, email address, and profile picture. We use your phone number for authentication.
- Payment & Transaction Data: To process payments and payouts, we collect transaction details and certain billing or payout preferences. Card processing and payout execution are handled by our payment partner Cashfree Payments. We do not store your full credit card or bank account numbers.
- Usage Data: Information about how you interact with our Service, such as your IP address, device type, browser type, and pages visited. This is used for analytics and security.
- Audit and Log Data: As part of our security features, we log administrative actions, IP addresses, and user agents to maintain the integrity of our platform and investigate suspicious activity through our "Red Flags System".
2. How We Use Your Information
Your information is used for the following purposes:
- To operate and maintain the Service.
- To create and manage your account and authenticate you.
- To process transactions, bookings, and payouts (via Cashfree).
- To facilitate communication between Users.
- To provide customer support and resolve disputes.
- To monitor for fraud and enforce our Terms of Service.
- To improve and personalize the Service.
3. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell your personal data. We may share your information in the following limited circumstances:
- With Other Users: To facilitate a booking, we share necessary information (like your name and profile) between the Artist and the Client.
- With Service Providers: We share information with third-party vendors who perform services on our behalf, such as payment processing (Cashfree), KYC verification (Cashfree), data analytics, and cloud hosting. For payments and KYC, sensitive data (e.g., PAN, Aadhaar, full bank details) is collected and processed by Cashfree on its own hosted pages; we receive only verification status, masked values, and limited metadata.
- For Legal Reasons: We may disclose your information if required by law or in response to a valid legal request.
- For Business Transfers: We may share information in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of company assets.
4. Payments & KYC (Cashfree)
We partner with Cashfree Payments to process payments and to perform identity verification (KYC). When you initiate KYC or a payout, you are redirected to Cashfree’s secure, hosted pages. Cashfree collects the necessary personal data (e.g., PAN, UPI VPA, bank details, and/or Aadhaar) directly. KalaQaar does not collect or store this raw KYC PII. We only store the resulting verification status, limited masked values (such as last 4 digits), reference IDs, and name‑match scores used for compliance and fraud prevention.
- What we don’t store: full PAN, Aadhaar numbers, or full bank details.
- What we store: masked values (e.g., last four), KYC status, reference IDs, and scores.
- Retention: We retain KYC status/metadata for as long as needed for compliance, fraud prevention, and regulatory record‑keeping. Cashfree retains raw KYC data under its own policies.
- Your Choice: Declining KYC may prevent payouts and may limit access to features that require identity verification.
5. Data Security
We take the security of your data seriously and use technical and administrative measures to protect it. This includes encryption, access controls, and our internal "Red Flags System" to monitor for suspicious activity. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure.
6. Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights regarding your personal data, including the right to access, correct, or delete your information. Please contact us to exercise your rights.
7. Children's Privacy
Our service is not directed to individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
